How are you different from other photographers?
We’re glad you asked! It starts with our sessions: we keep them relaxed and fun; we walk in the sand and play by the water. We bring fun little props for the children (or you can bring your own if you prefer). Our goal is to capture the love you have for one another, in an natural way. If you have any special requests we are happy to include them.
We have over 20 years combined experience in photographing families on the beach and delivering the highest quality prints, canvases, albums and digital collections right to your door. We have hundreds of happy clients and many come back to see us every year!

We have to have you! How do we book a session?
We would be honored to photograph you and your family! Feel free to give us a call at 850-684-0206 or go to our “contact us” link. We require a signed contract and your session fee as a retainer to hold your selected date.
Getting to know you:
We feel it is important to get to know you a bit before your session, so we have created questionnaires that will help us prepare for our time together and make the most out of it.
How far in advance do we need to book a beach portrait?
We have clients calling every day to book sessions 6 months to a year in advance. As soon as you decide we are the ladies for you…give us a call or shoot us an email! May-August are the busiest beach portrait months, so be sure to book those dates early.
What time of day to you photograph beach sessions?
All of our beach sessions are photographed at the absolute best time of day (evenings before sunset) to take advantage of the gorgeous evening colors, and ensure no hard shadows or squinting. This creates limited availability but outstanding results.
Where do you photograph your sessions?
This depends on the session type and the ages of kids involved. For beach and locations sessions, we generally travel to your preferred location. There are many gorgeous spots in Destin, South Walton, and along 30A in Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, Watercolor FL, Grayton Beach, Seaside FL, Blue Mountain Beach, Seacrest Beach, Seagrove, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, Watersound, Santa Rosa Beach, Inlet Beach, Navarre and adjoining areas. We are intimately familiar with all these areas and can even gift you suggestions about which neighborhood will fit your family’s style and vacation plans!
Sessions within 40 miles of Two Lights Photography’s Studio (this includes most of the areas listed) will not incur travel charges. Sessions outside that area may include at travel charge at the studio’s discretion.
Do you travel?
Yes! We love to travel when our schedule permits. We travel worldwide. Depending on the location travel may include airfare, car rental and accommodation, hotel, and food.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! We offer gift certificates at anytime during the year, we have many clients who purchase gift certificates for Mother’s Day, Birthdays or even Christmas gifts!
Do you have a minimum print order?
No, we do not require a minimum print order.
How will we view our proofs?
From the moment you book until your images arrive, we are here to guide you every step of the way. Our entire process is tailored to be simple and streamlined for our out of town clients, yet deliver the custom studio experience you deserve. For your convince we offer two ways to view your proofs:
In Studio Viewing Appointments: Viewing and ordering takes place at a special appointment created for this purpose at our Studio location. This appointment will last about one hour, and all individuals who wish to place an order (or have input into your family’s order) are encouraged to attend. Images will be projected on a large flat screen TV and studio samples will be available to help make your selections. Studio appointments are scheduled at booking time and subject to availability.
Online Viewing with a Phone Consultation: If your family simply cannot make the ordering appointment due to schedule constraints, a phone consultation can be scheduled in conjunction with an online proofing portal. The gallery will be placed online 2 weeks after your session and stay online for 14 days. If the gallery needs to be extended for any reason, a charge of $25 will be incurred for each 7 additional days.
How many photos can we expect to see?
Your images presentation will show on average 80 images from your session (depending on type of session). Family Reunion Sessions often have more proofs shown. The images we show will most artistically represent your family.
Do you offer digitals files or “disc” of images?
Digital files are not included with your session fee, but can be purchased as part of a Collection, or on their own. A “digital file” is defined by the studio as one single digital image.
Do you offer retouching?
Yes! Your session will have a “Two Lights Edit” when you see them in your proofing gallery or appointment. This includes skin smoothing, color correction and enhancements, and some removal of background elements.
Collections also include a limited number of custom retouches (usually 10 requests per collection, you will be able to select which images are retouched).
For ala carte orders, custom retouching is optional and can range from $7.50-$30 per request for removal of braces, digital slimming, wrinkle reduction, teeth whitening, etc.
Orders must be paid in full before retouching begins and clients must approve retouching before an order is finalized and sent to print.
How long will it take to receive my order?
We ship direcly to our clients homes, and once orders are finalized we have the following estimated delivery times.
Wall Portraits, Canvases, Cards, Announcements and USB’s: 4-6 weeks
Wood Prints, Burlap Prints: 4-6 weeks
Digital Downloads that include retouching: 2 weeks
Digital Downloads that do not include retouching: 3 business days.
Albums and Books: 4-12 weeks
How long do you keep images on file for re-orders?
Images you purchase at your ordering appointment will be kept on file for 1 year after the first viewing of the images. Unordered images may be purged after 60 days.
What do we wear?

Can I bring my pet to my session?
We love dogs, but some beaches do not allow them. If your beach allows pets, we will be happy to photograph them with your family. Please just let us know when you are booking if you would like to add your family pet.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes! We have a referral program that offers you a $50 referral credit for every client you refer that books. We have had many clients spread the word and rack up referral credits! Don’t miss out and make sure you tell your friends about your experience with us!
What if it rains? What if my child becomes ill?
If you must cancel your session due to illness or other personal emergency, please do your best to provide the studio with 48 hours notice so that your session time can be made available to other clients. We will happily offer a complimentary reschedule, subject to availability. Failure to provide adequate notice of a cancellation or multiple rescheduling will result in the forfeiture of your session fees, and another session fee payment will be required to hold your new date.
If a session is canceled because of severe weather, we will gladly reschedule your session one time for a future date. Sessions canceled due to severe weather that cannot be rescheduled will have 50% of their session fee refunded. The remaining 50% is used for event preparation.
Can you customize an album or wall grouping for me?
Yes! We create custom wall art for our clients that be allow your session to be a true work of art for your home! We also have several album designs to choose from and we will customize any album for an additional fee. All custom designs, layouts, and albums will be proofed to you within two weeks of your order. You are granted one opportunity to make up to three changes within your layout. All requests for changes must be made at the same time, as only on additional proof will be created. We reserve the right to make final decisions on artistic layouts.
Do you offer Family reunion sessions and how do you photograph such a large group?
Yes! Depending on how many family members are in your party you may book two photographers. Family Reunion Beach Sessions cannot be extended beyond one hour due to the harshness of the sun. We would love to capture everything naturally, but large family sessions do lend themselves to more posing than our single family sessions. Typically we catch a few natural shots of the kids and family, but we with larger groups we tend to guide you more into a position that shows off everyone in your family during those large group shots.
Any tips for parents of young children?
Make sure they get their regular nap, but I know that it is vacation and their schedule is a little off.
Make sure they have a snack before your session because it is close to dinnertime and they might get fussy and please try not to offer them snack while we are shooting so we don’t have gummies in their mouth.
We always advise you to change them when you arrive at your session, so please leave enough time to do that. If you feel your toddler will not mess up their outfit before the shoot then feel free to dress them beforehand.
Please do not stress! I know that’s hard to ask of parents with toddlers and babies, but the more you stress, they pick up on it. We are excellent with children and we can handle most any child we come in contact with. Every child is unique and sometimes they need more time to warm up to the camera. We always enjoy playing with them and talking with them with are camera to the side so they get to know us. Please know we always have their best interest and safety in mind. We have photographed hundreds of children over the years and we know all the right tricks and fun games to play to capture the perfect expression.
Babies: We suggest that you feed them before the session and also change them into their clothes when you arrive, so please allot yourself enough time to do that. If your baby is not sitting up yet or does not like the sand we try to bring a blanket, but any sentimental blanket from home or a blanket that you want to bring would be wonderful.
